The Scripture has many examples of God’s people navigating the ups and downs of His two kingdoms, church and state… Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, and a whole host of prophets. It flows right into the New Testament. Yes, even before He was born, Jesus coming, living, and dying were all intertwined with these two kingdoms. Kingdoms His Father had authored. Accounts that we take to heart and apply to our current walk of faith. Practical truths like the following…
“First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. Also, as we celebrate Veterans Day, let us give thanks to God for those who have served our nation by putting themselves in harm’s way. Let us also speak out for our Veterans and their families to ensure that our nation keeps its promise, given through President Abraham Lincoln, “to care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan.” Let us not neglect these freedoms the Lord has so graciously provided but use them to encourage and protect all of our neighbors by boldly speaking the Truth of God’s Holy and Unchanging Word.
