Our 2KM team seeks to shed the light of God’s truth on the two kingdoms He created. The Kingdom of the church and the Kingdom of government are precious gifts entrusted to our care. The 2KM team seeks to provide variety in the Monday Messenger. Variety that comes from our God given giftings… the historical and legal insights of Dr. Eidsmoe and Mr. John Talley, the in-depth biblical perspective of Pastor Nelson, Dr. Ray Ballmann, and Pastor Schram, and my practical devotional thoughts. Hopefully this variety strengthens and equips you in the honorable pursuit of bringing God’s righteousness influence into the public square.
“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.” Proverbs 14:34
In the early 70s, the chairman of the congregation I was serving said, “Pastor, there’s a cemetery nearby that has gone unattended for years. Several veterans are buried there. Could our church step-up and restore its honor?” There was no ‘hemming or hawing’… “By all means!”, I said.
It was a privilege. Its impact on my soul and the soul of that congregation remains to this day! The sweat of our efforts was pale in comparison to the sacrifices soldiers had made for our freedoms… to worship, to vote, to freely pursue a righteous life.
In all honesty, to a major extent, righteousness has gone unattended in our nation. Evil has been crafted and promoted as a false constitutional right. ‘Hemming and hawing’ are not acceptable. Engaging the culture by standing-up, speaking-up, and stepping- up for righteousness restores honor and exalts a nation. Satan and the world loudly protest, “Mind your own business. You Christians have no place in the political square.” The righteous confidently declare, “This is my Father’s world! He created government. We must be about His business.” By the way, tomorrow is Election Day… be about His business and vote!
