2 Kingdoms Friends,
2 Kingdoms Ministry is a partnership and just like Paul I’m thankful to have partners in ministry. I embrace his declaration in Philippians 1:3-5, “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all, in view of our participation in the gospel from the first day until now.”
I was raised by parents whose personal faith in Christ was lived out daily in our home and community. Even though I strayed from Christ, the seeds they planted and the example they set bore fruit. The truth that God’s Word will not return void revealed itself in my conversion in 1965. Because I had seen firsthand the transforming impact their lives had made in our community, I too wanted my life to make a difference for righteousness’ sake.
As my first wife, Jeannie, and I raised our four daughters, our desire was to hear and see them confess Christ before their Heavenly Father and before men. To us believing and proclaiming the Gospel was not merely meant to be an intellectual exercise; it was meant to be a grace-filled witness of Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
After Jeannie passed into Glory, God blessed me with a new bride, Colleen. Through the efforts of Shepherding the Shepherds, we have sought to encourage ministry leaders and their ministries. In every location our travels have taken us, we have recognized the necessity of spiritual leaders publicly upholding Biblical values inside and outside the walls of their ministries. Without it, every form of immoral teaching and behavior abounds from the schoolroom to the courtroom. Through all of history, but now more than ever, Proverbs 14:34, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people”, has been needed.
With Luther, I readily acknowledge that God alone has established His church and government for the wellbeing of both. Therefore, I am thankful to partner with 2 Kingdoms Ministry for the Glory of God and the effective, righteous impact of the Gospel.
