John was raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  He received his undergraduate degree from Wheaton College and his law degree from John Marshall Law School, both in Illinois.  John was in the Army Reserves, stemming from his ROTC involvement during college.  For 25 years, he was a corporate attorney in ServiceMaster.  John now practices church law serving legal needs within denominations and individual congregations and corporate law in the non-profit sector.  His involvement with 2 Kingdoms Ministries reflects his desire to encourage the saints to “stand in the gap” (Ezekiel 22).  He and Beth live in rural Newark, Illinois.  They have three married children, and 15 grandchildren.  They are members of Freedom Lutheran Church, Ottawa, IL and he is a member of the board of Lutherans for Life.
