In America, we live in a participatory republic that requires citizen involvement to determine the direction of government and laws. The search for the common good happens when God’s truth and laws are expressed by Christians in open debate of public policy and enacting it as law.

Knowing God’s moral law is vital for a country to obey God in its public policy. Our Founding Fathers believed that just as the people of God had been governed by the law of God given to them in the Ten Commandments, so our nation should be governed by law, especially God’s law.

The Founders understood that Biblical values formed the basis of the republic, and that the republic would be destroyed if the people’s knowledge of those values should ever be lost.
